In 3 words: Smooth, ricey & versatile
Yamadanishiki is rightly regarded as the King of Sakemai (sake rice) and it plays the starring role in this fine Junmai from Hakustsuru. Warm toasted almonds on the nose. Smooth and rice-forward on the palate with a clean aftertaste. A versatile brew that works as great accompaniment to BBQ meats when cilled but equally fares well when wamed.

The Brewery
Hakutsuru
Hakutsuru have been creating fine sakes in Nada Japan since 1743, when a timber merchant named Mr. Jihei Kano began producing sake .The location is exceptionally well suited for making Japan’s finest sake because of the confluence of four geographic elements: locally grown sake rice, first-rate natural spring water, cold winds from the Rokkō mountains and a regional Toji brewing culture more than a thousand years strong known as NADAGOGO - a recognised geographical indication of quality.
